June 12, 2012This year, a special Metal Hammer Golden Gods award was created in honor of ten years of Download festival memories, and SLIPKNOT's incredible 2009 headline set was voted the greatest moment of them all!
Download promoter Andy Copping and Metal Hammer's head honcho Alexander Milas took to the stage on Saturday afternoon, June 9 at Donington Park in Leicestershire, United Kingdom to present SLIPKNOT frontman Corey Taylor with the award. Video footage of the award presentation and Corey's acceptance speech can be seen below.
SLIPKNOT will release "Antennas To Hell", a "best-of" collection on July 24 via Roadrunner Records. In addition, the group will headline the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival this summer. The band will also curate and headline the inaugural year of their very own festival, Knotfest, this August.
The two-disc version of "Antennas To Hell" includes a bonus live CD with SLIPKNOT's 2009 performance at the Download festival in the U.K. The album features fan favorites, live classics and radio hits.
SLIPKNOT will also release its first-ever mobile app, Wear The Mask. The app will be made available simultaneously with "Antennas To Hell" and is marketed as part mask builder, part social connector for fans.
